A prayer for help

How much longer will you forget me, LORD? Forever?
How much longer must I endure trouble?
How long will sorrow fill my heart night day and night?
How long will my enemies triumph over me?

Look at me, O LORD, and answer me.
Restore my strength; don't let me die.
Don't let my enemies say, "We have defeated him."
Don't let them gloat over my downfall.

I rely on your constant love
I will be glad because you will rescue me.
I will sing to you O LORD, because you have been good to me.

Where is the Key to Heart Locket Necklace

There's something rather vintage about this Heart Locket from ManoCelebrates. I like the unique teal blue flower on the heart locket and the key. I have a thing for keys so this necklace caught my attention right away. The red flower also draws the eye make the necklace pop.

Rainbows and Sushi

The weather was deceiving, cloudy yet warm, scented with a chill of possible rain or snow. I had no idea what to wear for my outing with my friend Amy. Too cold for a skirt, to warm for a heavy coat I stood in front of my dresser pondering, looking at items with dissatisfaction. An outfit I had imagined many days ago finally came to me and I was out the door in fuchsia and cords.

For some reason I was impatient that day. Perhaps it was the many minuets waiting and anticipating for the day to arrive in the first place. My patience caught up with me and I was unable to sit still any longer. I browsed around the mall where we were to meet and found a dollar store, bought a color book, and splashed colors with the help of princesses while I taught myself patience once again. I learned there was a reason why  children color so much, it is quite calming and fun. The pictures already drawn, all you have to is cover up the black and white. It's something that I do now a lot when feeling restless and Amy and I pressed colors while we ate.

The meal was a rainbow of flavors, which is fitting since I ordered the "rainbow." Salmon, shrimp, and tuna fought for attention on my pallet. Little did they know they melded together in a colorful whim of savoring deliciousness. I also got a usual favorite, yam tempura sushi. The name of Amy's order is unknown to me now but I tried it and it was tasty.

We craved sweets after our fishy meal but found our eyes were feasting more than our tongues and dear Amy was as sweet as ever in her outfit, yellow, floral, and furry fun.

How to stop worrying about the future

I hate worrying about the future. I'm not even sure why I do it when the Lord has already taken care of it. It is a fruitless act to worry. It brings no satisfaction, no ease of mind, it simply drains and pulls one away from success and fulfillment. You cannot do well when you are so busy worrying about doing well. And yet I do it. I worry about my health, will I be well enough to realize my dreams. I worry about falling in love or rather, someone not falling in love with me. I worry about my academic career, will I get good grades and get a good job.
These things run through my mind. I over contemplate. This is actually called furturizing. We all do it on some level, because we are taught from a young age to plan for the future and think ahead. And in some respects it's necessary to think ahead. But it can be done to an excessive point and it can lead to a chronically stressful life when planning becomes chronic stressing about the future. Physical consequences such as loss of sleep, loss of appetite, weariness, and even physical pain can result from this stressing.

So how do we stop this worrying about the future?

By living in the moment.

It seems easier said than done doesn't it. I mean how does one put themselves in the present when there is so much to plan for?

By appreciating the here and now that God has given you. By savoring the little moments you enjoy and by placing your fears of the future in the Lord.

You have no control over your tomorrow as much as you would like to. But you do have control over your today, so focus on that. Focus on what you are doing now. Do it with all your ability. Enjoy and love the present blessings and even challenges you receive because they will shape your future. What you do today will be reflected in your tomorrow. So if you are worrying about the what if's of your future, think and examine how you are living in this very moment.

Trust your life in the Lord, appreciate the present, and release control over your tomorrow.

God Bless
