When my times feels most valuable

I wanted to make buttermilk pancakes this morning. Correction, I wanted to eat buttermilk pancakes. I wasn't bursting with enthusiasm to make them. Isn't that how it is sometimes? You want something, but you don't actually want to work for it.

For instance, I want a million dollars, but I'm kind of just hoping I'll go to the bank and there it'll be without my having to do anything. Or how I really want to spend a summer in a luxury apartment in France, but do I want to work my tail off to earn enough to go to France...nope. But life doesn't work like that. You have to do something to get something.

If I want a boat load of money, I have to be willing to do two boat loads of work to get it. Sometimes it's all worth it. You work hard and feel proud once you've achieved the end reward. Sometimes it's not worth it, but in those cases at least you can say you put in your best effort. At least you tried.

Most of what we do is trival. It doesn't mean all that much in the grand scheme of things. I mean, me making pancakes is not going to help the world much (not unless I'm sharing). Even the hours spent working is done to stuff something in between the slots of time I've been alotted. It helps me contribute, but I'm not doing anything incredible simply by working.

The only real time I feel the time and energy I'm giving is doubled (trippled), and I really feel it is valuable is when I'm spending time with God. To the outside viewer, I'm not doing much in those moments. I'm not rushing around; I'm not trying to please everyone in sight; I'm not conquring the world, but in those moments I am doing the very best thing I can do for the world. I'm opening my heart; I'm letting him in; I'm boosting my self worth and yet humbling myself. I'm filling myself with joy, releasing my fear and sorrow, I'm conquring my demons, and I am connecting with everything he has put on this planet. All this lets me do whatever it is I'm expected to do with renewed excitment. It gives me courage to face the things I couldn't otherwise. It keeps me hopeful, joyful, grateful.

God gives me more than the world will ever give me. No matter how hard I work, the reward will never match up. And there is no possible way I can ever give to the world all that God has already given it. So while I do my trival work on earth, I remind myself to work even harder for God. Not because it will change the world, or even send me to heaven (it might not) but as a way to say thanks for all the times I didn't do anything but was still blessed by him.

When you feel life is unfair remember this

When you feel life is unfair--that the pressure is too much, or you are exhausted from trying, remember that the flowers must start out as buds. They must wait for the rains and the sun to come and go. Up and out from the ground, they must push themselves in order to be the beauties we all stop and admire. Do not be afraid of life's challenges. Celebrate the rain, the sun, and before long you will be like the blossomed flower: beautiful and admirable.

Photo is my own. The wild rose is native to my Province.

Why everyday should be casual Friday

It's a fact, Bosses who let their employees wear blue jeans to work have a  more healthy and happy staff.

People who wear jeans walk more. They are more likely to get up and ask the boss a question and interact with their co workers, plus all that walking around unclogs your arteries. Blue jeans also improve your eyesight.

Companies who let their staff wear jeans are more productive, because their employees feel relaxed and comfortable they get work done faster.
This information would have come in very handy when I broke the dress code at work. I could have just told my boss I was boosting productivity. Oh well it doesn't matter now. I have my own business

Success tastes like apricots

Do you feel like just don't have the motivation to tackle all the things your day requires? Here's the solution-munch on apricots. Apricots can sharpen your thinking. How? They are loaded with zinc, a mineral that can help you outsmart a sticky situation. Studies have shown that it can boost mental acuity by 15%.

Its color is also known to heighten motivation. Just glancing at its fiery orange can prompt you to take on even the most daunting tasks, by stimulating the pituitary gland to prompt the release of adrenaline. Plus, the eye and brain process orange faster so it immediately grabs your attention, prodding you to make decisions and take action quickly and more easily.

Hey there, July

Hey there July, have you come to break my heart or kick start it? Are you looking for a victim or a friend? I could be smiling, tearing up from summer time laughter or shedding streaks of summer time blues. July, you bring so much excitment. The thrill of your arrival is too much for one girl sometimes.

Ah, but you never make any promises, not real ones anyway. Sunny days, heated nights, sun soaked memories and stormy thunderous serenades. July can make you do anything and be anything. It can leave you blissed from summer sweetness as you run through the streets chasing your summer star or leave you wading through it's pool of summer sadness.

Hey there July, will you make me smile or make me cry?

Sushi and High Heels

I think we all have that one meal we crave often. For me, it's sushi. Walking past sushi restaurants is impossible for me. There is something about it--maybe the variety--that makes me opt for it whenever I'm hungry. Put me in a quiet corner, with nothing but sushi, and I'll consider it a makeshift heaven.

Thank you!

The sun is shinning and I blessed to be out of the hospital so I can enjoy it. I'm still sick, but it's always nice to be in an environment that you feel the love of those around you. It is one of the fastest healers. I was quickly going through my emails and noticed a subscriber sent me a get well wish. Thank you so much Candice! That truly made my day. I hope you, as well as all my readers are well, happy, and safe.

Seeking Style On Style Says

One of the reasons I love fashion blogging is the ability to get inspired by stylish people in all parts of the world. The World Wide Web has made it easy to see not only what is fashionable in different parts of the world, but what people my age are wearing and to what. Fashion blogs are extremely inspiring and influential to today’s fashion industry and it’s always fun to look at the way they’ve pieced together their outfits.

However, up until recently, it wasn’t easy to imitate a blogger or even celebrity look. Even though countless websites and bloggers were sharing where they got the clothes they weren’t able to let you buy the same or similar items. I’m sure we’ve all been there at least once—you see a great style/fashion blogger outfit and think “WHERE CAN I GET SOMETHING LIKE THAT?”

This is just one of the reasons why I like Stylesays.com. The website is focussed not just on sharing pieces and outfits, but letting members recreate and buy the outfits. Style says tags every item in an outfit photo and provides a link to purchase them, as well as similar items from different price points.

This makes it easy for virtually any budget to be able to grab the looks they love. Stylesay’s clipping tool is incredibly simple to use, and the website is overall addicting! I’ve been a member of this site for a while and my first thought when I joined was “FINALLY!” since I had yet to see any site like it that caters to stylists and fashionistas. It’s a fun way to seek out world wide trends, follow bloggers, get inspired by different styles and of course shop!

Check out their new website and join today! If you have an account follow me. I’ll follow back.

Tuesday Treasure: Wild About Wildfox Advertising

I'm wild over Wildfox Couture at the moment. I found out about the brand early this year, around March, and I've been addicted ever since. The thing is, it's not the clothes I'm crazy about but the way they promote the clothes. Wildfox Couture presents their lines in a short music video commercial, where different models sport outfits featuring the brand. Free People and several other companies do this. But I find Wildfox does it best. The videos are playful, entertaining and let you get a look at the clothes in a rather inspiring manner, as different outfit stream across the screen. I'm hooked on these videos and love seeing what Wildfox has done in previous seasons to showcase their brands clothing. Take a look at the video below to see what I mean.

White Teapot for Two

I'm a little teapot with the cutest shortest little spout. Found on etsy, on a shop called clamlab, this unique handmade teapot is too adorable to not feature. At 7" tall and large enough to hold 24 oz of water it is perfect for a tea party. It is also microwaveable and dishwasher safe.
